Art Magazines Covering Current Events

Just as the artist toils away at his or her craft, so too does the arts writer, keeping us all abreast of the latest doings. Here are those contemporary arts magazines which offer online viewing.
Absolute Arts
Updated nearly every day, this site's news focuses on upcoming shows world-wide. Also a good source of Calls for Artists announcements.
ArtForum
Yes, of course they want you to subscribe to the print version, but there are lots of freebie reads available online.
artnet Magazine
News, feature articles, and reviews (including art books) are all here for you. Additionally, you may peruse galleries and events. An entertaining read.
ARTnews Online
This site will mostly tell you what you're missing in the print issue, but offers several full-length articles online each month.
Arts and Letters Daily
You have to see it to believe it. It covers much more than the visual arts, but they're in here too.
Arts Journal - Daily Arts News
All the latest happenings from the visual arts, music and theatre, and you have the option of getting them delivered via e-mail each day. There is even a section on art "issues".
ArtsEditor
Independent arts reporting, reviewing and relevant disclosure, available online free of charge.
AsianArt.com Articles
Fascinating, hard-to-find topics on Asian art are presented here by "leading scholars and informed amateurs". If you've been pondering the effects Tantric Hinduism has had on Khmer culture, enjoy yourself!
Contemporary Art from the Islamic World
"Five times a year, we publish new issues with articles, information, and pictures concerning contemporary art with essential sources or references in the Islamic world." Every bit of it is available online.
Juxtapoz
Information on the wonderful world of LowBrow shows is available in the "Events" section. To get the really good stuff, though, a subscription is a must.
Raw Vision
Devoted to Outsider Art, by subscription, but with online resources. Give them a look for something new and different, if you're now wondering what "Outsider Art" means...
SV
SV ("Studio Visit") is a neat idea. Robert Knafo produces and edits a "periodical digital exhibition of contemporary art. SV features new work by important established and emerging artists. By arrangement with the artists, the work featured in SV is for sale unless otherwise indicated." All online, PDF format subscription available.
